Donald K. Tressler oral history, 1963.

In this interview, Donald Tressler discusses his personal history and shares his observations of the New York State food processing industry. Topics include: his high school and college education; his association with Clarence Birdseye and Birdseye's innovations in the packaging and promotion of frozen foods; the utilization of by-products from food processing plants; his analysis of food freezing prior to 1930; the work of the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station in food freezing, including the selection of research topics, the use of research grants, the development of research facilities, the relationships between staff, and the development of the publication FOOD RESEARCH; and his observations of the interest of New York organizations in food freezing.
